Follow these simple steps to complete your application and secure your spot!

Complete Your Personal Statement

As part of your application for the Spring Break Innovation Camp, you’ll need to submit a one-page personal statement. Think of this like a professional cover letter where you introduce yourself, share your goals, and explain how you can contribute to this program.

Here are the requirements:

  • Length & Format: Your statement must be one page, single-spaced, with a 12-point font size.
  • Content: Use this opportunity to talk about who you are, what motivates you, your future aspirations, and why you’re a great fit for the camp.
  • Originality: If you’ve created a video as part of your application, you can include similar ideas, but your personal statement should not repeat your video

Submit a Video Response

As part of your application, you must submit a 2-minute video addressing the following questions:
  1. What excites you most about attending the Spring Break Innovation Camp?
  2. Why is this opportunity important to you, and how does it align with your goals?
  3. What do you hope to learn or accomplish during the Innovation Camp, and which skills are you most interested in developing?
  4. How do you plan to use the knowledge, skills, and connections you gain from Innovation Camp in your future career or school activities?

Provide a Professional Recommendation

Your application for the Spring Break Innovation Camp must include a professional letter of recommendation. This letter should be written by someone who has directly supervised or guided you in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, principal, mentor, coach, employer or community.

Recommendation Submission Guidelines

As part of the application process, please provide the following information for your reference:

  • Full Name
  • Title/Position
  • Affiliation/Organization
  • Contact Phone Number and/or Email Address

The Aspiring Youth Academy (AYA) will contact your reference directly to complete the required recommendation form. Please be aware that all recommendations will be thoroughly reviewed and remain strictly confidential, accessible only to AYA and Arizona State University program staff.
