Entrepreneurship can help teens overcome negative peer pressure

Entrepreneur.com released an article recently focusing on the mental fortitude of teens who dive into entrepreneurship in these critical teen development years.  As a parent of teens myself,  there is nothing more that I want for my kids than the ability to think on their feet,  be respectful to others and have a passion for life.    I want them to feel confident in who they are and what they bring to society.   But in today’s world, that is easier said than done!  

So how do we help teens be successful navigators of peer pressure and find purpose through entrepreneurship?  At Aspiring Youth Academy, we will continue to focus on hands on experiences that will help our youth build confidence in their ideas and help bring them to fruition.  As the article states, not all kids are meant to be entrepreneurs but through our programming we want to give students the chance to fail safely and early.   In 2022, 60% of teens states they had interest in entrepreneurship but only 1 in 5 have the skills to become one.    That’s okay!  It never hurts to learn the skills of a leader,  how to communicate, how to manage a budget or how to market a product!  Being an entrepreneur requires many building blocks and we are out to teach them all.
